Our Story
Michigan Mushrooms LLC was born in the summer of 2008, in a humble tent out on the back 40 of a veggie farm off Wallace Road in Alpena County, MI.
Our first incarnation as a medium scale grower of gourmet mushrooms brought us to the Ann Arbor farmers market, and our ‘second act’ brought us online to share these gifts of nature with a larger audience.
Chaga mushrooms became what we are best known for, being one of the earlier suppliers to a burgeoning market. After a bit of a pause, we are back supplying the same great quality chaga everyone has come to appreciate but will also be selling the delicious gourmets that we got started with.
Most excitingly we are planning to welcome the general public on mushroom/plant educational forays that we have offered to private groups in the past. Please stay tuned for details on scheduling for the 2021 season.
